Venice Train Depot

Welcome to the Venice Train Depot Project

During the Spring of 2001, Professor Baram co-directed an investigation into the Venice Train Depot with Sarasota County Archaeologist Susan Lynn White.  The excavations were completed in conjunction with the renovations of the Train Depot for Sarasota County Area Transit.  The report by Uzi Baram, Susan Lynn White, and Erin Westfall 2001 Historical Archaeological Investigations of Site # 8SO585 in Venice, Florida: The Venice Train Depot (VTD) Excavations of 2001 is available at Sarasota County Historic Resources and New College of Florida's Cook Library.
